Our Rehearsals

We rehearse on Monday evenings during term time from 7:00-9:00 pm in the old school rooms behind Christ Church, Berry Lane, Longridge, PR3 3JA (access is via Chapel Street). Our first rehearsal for the 2025-26 season will take place on 1 September 2025.

There’s no audition, and you don’t need to read music—just a willingness to sing! Whether you’re a complete beginner who’s never sung in a choir before or an experienced chorister looking to return, you’ll be warmly welcomed.

Novice Singer?
You don’t need any experience to join The Valley Singers—just a love of music and a willingness to give it a go. There are no auditions, and it doesn’t matter if you’ve never sung in a choir before or don’t know the difference between soprano, alto, tenor and bass, let alone which one you are - we’ll help you figure that out!

Many of our songs are taught by ear, and we provide voice-part-specific practice tracks so that you can learn at your own pace and build confidence along the way. Most importantly, you’ll find a friendly, supportive group where everyone is welcome and encouraged.

Experienced Chorister?
If you're confident reading musical notation or have classical training, you'll find plenty to enjoy and challenge you at The Valley Singers. We're not a singalong group—we perform thoughtful, well-crafted four-part arrangements that span a wide range of styles and periods.

Our repertoire includes major works such as The Armed Man by Karl Jenkins and The Sprig of Thyme by John Rutter, alongside pieces by Mozart, Gibbons, and Bob Chilcott. We also enjoy exploring high-quality arrangements of contemporary songs by artists like Coldplay and Sting and musicals such as Dear Evan Hansen.
